Forest school of the Marshes
Year: 2023
Studio: 3.4
The project is focused on integrating the natural
landscape of the Marshes with the Victoria Wharf in Leigh-on-sea by building a primary school that teaches a Forest school curriculum. The use of natural materials such as Rammed Earth and ceramic tidal pools help to create a connection between the built environment and the natural surroundings.
The emphasis on risk-taking and self-exploration in the Forest school curriculum is a great way to encourage children to engage with the natural environment and learn about the unique characteristics of Leigh-on-sea. The playful shapes and irregular building materials help to create a fun and interactive environment that is conducive to learning and exploration.
